Inure
My final project for my Intro to Comics class-there are a few mistakes/ugly panels that I intend to go back and fix. At least Zak Sally didn't tell me I fucked it up.
Then again, he didn't say I didn't. D:
I made this comic because I was forced to. Kind of. In general, I like rather mundane comics, and have a tendency to appreciate the more tragic/sad ones. But anyhow, we had to develop two separate story lines for class, and our peers voted on which one they liked best.
Apparantly, my peers love dead kittens.
On a slightly happier note, I just got a shit ton of comics half price, (By shit ton, I mean...5.) including Shazaam, Fell, and Modesty Blaise. I also picked up at full price, Skim, which completely blew my mind. The art work is stunning, and the coming of age story is dead on. It was a lovely read.
Well, back to working on finals.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME JEFFREY BROWN.
My two page bio of cartoonist Jeffrey Brown. I decided to write more about his books and art than his actual life, as he does that really well already, and I didn't want to remake one of his strips.
I purposely copped his style, but all props go to Mr. Brown. Some of these panels are recreations from his various comics, including Clumsy, Unlikely, Little Things, and Funny Misshapen Body. The rest are homages.
My idea was to start out rather sketchy, and progress to a more clean version, much like Jeffrey's comics have progressed since Clumsy. I don't think that I successfully managed to convey that. Also, the inks killed the pencils...time constrictions for class, and my poor time management didn't help. So I feel that this could have been a lot better, but it's what I made it. Anywho, enjoy.

Comic Bio and Zak Sally
...well, that's what this post would have been about, had I not left my thumb drive with all of my recent comic scans at my apartment. So, as soon as I get home, comics about Zak Sally and my horrible nightmares about class with him (by horrifying, I mean, rather ridiculous. Every week I dream about that class the night before I have it. They're rather bizarre dreams that often mix comics and Star Trek, for some reason), and my 2 page, horribly done biography about Jeffrey Brown. Well, more like two pages of commentary on his work over the years.
But since I'm on my spring break, I've headed back home (thus without my thumb drive), and have been visiting my grandparents. Both of my grandfathers were recently released from the hospital, and are doing better, but far from in the clear. I'm just happy I get to see everyone again.
Other than that, recently I have been trying to finish commissions that people have been harassing me for, and rereading a bunch of comics. In particular, Mother, Come Home. I am continuously amazed by Mother, and I enjoy finding all the small details and tie ins that I never noticed before. And I'm rereading Black Hole, which continues to awe and creep me out.
I guess that's about it, hopefully I will have some artwork up this week, if I can locate a scanner or a decent camera.

Hourly Comics...
Did not happen today. And this is why.
Notice the raccoon eyes. And yet, still no sleep. Shit.
Well, hopefully I will have some comics up here soon...been relatively busy, or playing Katamari (procrastination at it's finest).
But now I am off to do my homework for Life Drawing.
FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUU-
